There is no doubt that hands on lessons are THE way to learn the techniques. You can learn a lot about anything by reading but when it comes to learning a physical skill there is no substitute for lessons. I am doing less 2-day basic clinics on the road but I am doing TWO two-day basic workshops here in Oregon.

I know that for many of you coming to Oregon is a hike for only a two day clinic! In an effort to encourage YOU to travel I have combined these two day clinics with other topics and instructors. I have been around a long time and I have met many of the industry leaders I am teaming up with some of the BEST!

The first clinic is combined with our shearing day. Following the 2 days of camelidynamics work, Marcus Whitman who trained with one of the best (Ann Kaiser) is going to shear our 8 alpacas along with 8 visitors over the course of two days. The group will split in half and while half are shearing, skirting sorting and learning the ins and outs of how to organize a shearing day that is kind, respectful safe and FUN! The other half of the group will work with Cathryn Castle Whitman on all aspects of marketing. Cathryn is currently an executive editor at Specialized Publications and been in the advertising, marketing, promotion field for many years. Marcus and Cathyrn have created a thriving alpaca business and most recently have opened an alpaca boutique Goodness! The next day the groups switch places.
Marcus and Cathyrn are truly an inspiration, tons of fun and really know their stuff!

As our last event of the year we will be hosting two more giants in the industry in an amazing clinic that we are calling the 3-way clinic- Good medicine!
After two-days of Camelidynamics you will be treated to two days with internationally renowned judge Amanda VandenBosch. Amanda was here last year and is back by popular demand! Amanda will teach you in two days what it might take years to learn on your own. You will learn about fiber, conformation and what the judges are looking for. You will have hands on with fiber and animals provided by Crescent moon ranch and have extra opportunities to practice your Camelidynamics handling skills.
The last day of the clinic is a full day with Dr. Toni Cotton one of the most respected and knowledgeable camelid specialists in the world. She is also totally dedicated to handling animals kindly and respectfully. Dr. Toni and I have worked together on many occasions this clinic will break new ground in terms of veterinary handling. Don't miss it.

Each clinic is designed to be taken as a unit but if you can only make a portion of the clinic we can make special arrangements.

Absolutely ditto Marty's comments on the life-changing benefit of a hands-on clinic. I'd like to add that if you have attended a Basics clinic you should not dismiss the idea of attending another: many who have done so have received even greater benefit from the second, as they address the work with greater confidence and refine their techniques. In addition, the work is ever evolving and Marty always has some new gems to share! Of course, for those who have done a Basics clinic, nothing can compare to the advanced trainings at Marty's ranch in Oregon.
Looking forward to seeing many of you at clinics this year,
Radar
