At a recent advance clinic, I had several instances of the lightbulb coming on in my mind. One specific example regards the use of the mid-line catch. After seeing someone else do the same thing, I realized that I often approach nicely, then lunge at the animal for the last six inches or so. Surely, the animal doesn't enjoy that! So, I've been reminded to continue slowly and gently all the way to making contact with the neck. If the animal moves away and I want to lunge, I resort to the wand and catch rope as that particular animal may just not be ready for a mid-line catch yet. A couple of my girls are very happy with my new knowledge! :)

It was a revelation to see this on video and what was really interesting was that after watching and working with the first group in August (your group) I must have done a better job of explaining it to the next group because the problem of the "striking cobra" went away totally. Amazing.
