Dear Marty
I have a nine month old alpaca. and she is a pain to train! i'm
trying to train her for a show comming up. i just want her to trust
me! but she just runs over and stands by mom. i read your article but
the thing is that mom doesn't stomp her foot. she just walks away like
she doesn't care. mom loves me but the baby hates me and will not have
any thing to do with me. that also make it a little harder to train. i
need some help badly. Thanks Alot
Have you been to a clinic or read my book? You are asking a very big question... one I wrote a book to answer. If you have more specifics I may be able to do better but I would really suggest my book. It is really a complete guide to my training program. I also have a number of articles on my website that you can download that might help. let me know.
thanks you so much for the help! I read your book or some of it. and i figured out what was wrong though. i was making her walk on a lead in front or around her mother. so she would always try and run to mommy,
but when i took her away from her mother. she relised that she has to
learn to trust me and put all her "lifes faith" in me. and she did
great. she walked with me and trusts me. i gave her little treats
every now and then tell her shes being good with big praises. i figure
"Out Of Site Out OF Mind" is what really did the trick. what do you
think? let me know...please. thanks so much again
Well done figuring things out couldn't have done it better myself.
Happy Handling.
