Just have to share -- Radar and I were manning the booth at Nat'ls.
A wonderful couple who have been really researching as to the set up for their farm visited. I'd connected with them earlier and we'd spent lots of time together (hopefullly more). Friday, they had attended his retirement party-- Guess what his company presented him with as "The Retirement Present" A Llama Scale!! Don't you just love it!!

Marsha and I had another interesting encounter at the conference: a canine/equine chiropractor was watching alpacas being pulled around the hall and speculating on the various injuries likely to be caused. He examined my training skull and explained how that particular type of attachment was particularly vulnerable. Fun, busy, interesting weekend!

Since this was my first stint "In the Booth" Radar will be the best to fill you in on all. But -- YES You were missed!! Sigh! We were tickled as to the sales of "Losing It"! The Chiropractor was really interested in having a chance to view a full skeleton. Aha Sergio -- but I guess he's not ready quite yet. I was pleased that my free private lesson students came by and purchased gear we had worked with! So terrific to be included as Radar did visits to pens and opened minds as to Camelidynamics way. My show roomie after watching Radar work with her alpacas said "I think I'm going to cry"! I know that you all probably get this alot, but this was my first! Ask Radar about getting hooked on needle felting!! She's discovered a new art form!!

I couldn't stand it and called Radar to get a full report sounds like AOBA did a fabulous job of organization and that it was a big success on all counts! I am so stoked that the new book did so well. It is flying off the shelves here.
woo hoo... BALANCE rules!

Chiropractor Clarence commented that the carriage of the head made injury more likely than in a horse or dog ( a point which I have heard Marty make many times!) Also parroting Marty he questioned the wisdom of tying an alpaca, especially unattended. When he examined the skull I carry for demonstrating halter fit he felt that the type of attachment of the vertebra also was a particularly vulnerable one. He related to Marsha & me some great tales of near-miraculous cures in horses & dogs through chiropractic. Does anyone know of similar treatment in camelids?
