Hi Marty,
I just wanted to run something by you. I have just listed a female for sale that is a new “style” for me. She is an import, and as such has some of the behavior that I am familiar with squealing, spitting, cushing. The added bonus is that as she is doing all of this she is urinating. She is 10 years old, and owned by this person for 5 years. His take “oh that is just the way she is”. Is this something you have witnessed? My take is that losing control of the urinary function is coming more from a fear place than the aggressiveness I’ve witnessed in connection with some squealing, spitting females with import backgrounds. My thought is that this is a girl where less restraint is better might put her in a more relaxed place. Boy, could she use some consistent re-programming.
In my opinion all of those behaviors are fear based and have nothing to do with aggression. I have seen the urinating thing along with pooping too a very scared girl. She will love your approach and it I would bet that you will see a major change in a short time. You are totally right less restraint will really help her. Is she at your place? When you sell her make sure to help the new owners understand why the behavior is happening so they can help her to feel safer too.
